Revamp

Okay, so it's time I got back in the swing of it. I've been going to the gym now, very early in the morning with my awesome friend Michelle for two weeks, and Monday is pay day, so on Monday I will begin the slow changing of my eating habits, starting with breakfast. Starting weight 213 (still 3 pounds down from my original start!) Goal: 145 Timeline: 1 year How am I going to do it? Well, I already started. After my last attempt which ended when I injured my back and got depressed because I had to cut my workout way down, then school started, so I had to go back to work and didn't have the time..... I decided to do the discipline thing and get up early. I was lucky enough to have a friend close by who is willing to get up at 5am (earlier on Mondays and Wednesdays) and hit the gym with me M-F. We do spin classes on Monday/Wednesday and Bodyflow class, which is a mix of Ti-Chi and Yoga, on Tuesday/Thursday, Fridays is a free for all workout day to do whatever we feel we need to do that week. And since I am two weeks into this, I'm already waking up without my alarm and I feel like the habit is formed. That moves me into phase two of the process: Food. I love food. I love greasy, sugary, fried, baked, sauced and gravied food. So this is where it gets really tough for me. Since willpower is a finite resource, I'm going to try starting small, but changing my eating habits one meal at a time. Starting with Breakfast. I'm thinking oatmeal and a banana. Yep. And two weeks from Monday, it will be time to focus on lunch. I am honestly probably not going to touch dinner until the first of the year, after all the holidays are passed, because I'm a bit weak when it comes to holiday food, I'm just going to go for portion control for that, but two week after I makeover my lunch, I'll do a snack overhaul. I think this a great plan, and I think I have set a reasonable goal for being down to my ideal weight in 1 year, which would be mid-September of 2013. Look for a weekly update from me on here, instead of a daily one, since I have a a ton to do in my day, but I'm back in the saddle and feeling really good about my choices and goals :)

  1. You can do it, we all can, just have to keep working on it. Getting back on the horse if/when we fall off.
