Jillian

Today was a rough one--it was just a weird day.

I've been starving all day long.  Normally, that wouldn't sound all that unusual, but I haven't had much of an appetite since Daphnie was born back in March.  There are days when I don't eat until two in the afternoon and it doesn't bother me.  Normally, I can eat one full meal and then have a couple small snacks throughout the rest of the day (if that much) and I'm totally fine.  Today, I could not get enough to eat.  Not sure if I should chalk that up to 1) there's been a lot going on lately and I was craving comfort and to get comfort I needed to eat or 2) my body has finally realized that I'm burning a relatively significant amount of calories each day and is demanding more sustenance.  Whatever the reason, it was weird.  The good news is, I didn't stuff myself full with really bad junk food.  I contemplated going through an entire bag of Twizzlers today and then only ate three or four, so, small victory there.  And I stuck to water all day.  :)

I kept trying to talk myself into working out all day and kept putting it off...and then putting it off some more.  After I got the girls put down to bed at 8:45 I finally kicked myself in the ass (figuratively...Lord knows, I'm not flexible enough right now to do so literally, but I'll get there) and made myself put in my 30-day Shred DVD by Jillian Michaels (I hope to God everybody knows who that is, but just in case you don't, she's the dark-headed, totally ripped chick that used to be one of the trainers on the Biggest Loser).  It's a 20 minute workout made up of three six-minute mini-workouts with a short warm-up and cool-down.  Each six minute workout is made up of 3 minutes of strength (bicep curls, lunges, push-ups, etc), 2 minutes of cardio (jumping jacks, jump rope, punches) and 1 minute of abs (self-explanatory).  No stops.  No breaks.  20 minutes of muscle burning and pulse racing.

After a very weird day, I feel superb!  So glad I did my workout, that I talked myself into getting up and getting active.  That in itself, my friends, is major progress.

Weighing in at the gym tomorrow.

Until next time...
